Toms River, NJ measures 52.88 square miles and is located in the northern portion of Ocean County.  Bordering municipalities include Brick, Manchester, and Berkeley.  Most of Toms River is on the mainland, but there is a portion of Toms River that is waterfront.

There is a large variety of shopping opportunities in Toms River, from the Ocean County Mall, to major chain stores, and small "mom and pop" stores.  Also, numerous restaurants, movie theatres, doctors offices, law offices, and much more are located in the town.  Community Medical Center is also located in Toms River. Also in town is the Pine Belt Arena, which houses sporting events and concerts. Double Trouble Park is a recreational activity located in town.

Toms River School District is a huge school district with 12 elementary schools (K-5), 3 Intermediate schools (6-8), and 3 high schools (9-12). Also, Monsignor Donovan High School, Ocean County's only Catholic high school, is located in Toms River.  Several private preschool/daycares are also located in town. Ocean County College is in Toms River also.

Several activities and events are offered throughout the year including Halloween Parade (October), farmers market (summer), Christmas Tree lighting (December), and the NJ Ice Cream Festival.
